Hi First time poster. Just came across acquiring buillion in the last couple of days and my brain is currently swimming with information. I believe I want to acquire silver bars (ideally 1kg, but smaller ok too) as a way to invest in something physical that I can stash away. I like the look of Perth Mint bars, but notice they're a little more than ABC Cast bars. I've also seen on here 1kg perth mint bars (which don't appear to be special) for selling more than I can buy a new one. I guess my question is, should I just buy from Perth Mint or ABC? Do people sell them here for significantly less than they are available new? Will keep an eye out in the trading forum anyway. Really want to keep this simple and purchase nice clean bars - not interested in coins or other intrinsic value. Would like to stick to 1kg and maybe 10oz bars - ultimately just want more value for money and liquidity.
Thanks so much for the tip! Seems to be more expensive than Perth Mint or ABC at the moment. Is there a reason to go with them?
Pamp are great bars also. Perth Mint, pamp or scottsdale always sell well. Abc bars arent finished as well and don't seem to be as popular. You will have no trouble selling perth mint or pamp stock tor abit more than abc as they always carry the slight premium
Thanks - makes perfect sense. So I guess the question is - to buy direct or second hand market? Guess I'll keep an eye on the forum and see what comes up.
No dramas at all. Watch the forum, buy from dealers thats the fun of it the hunting and research. Try and make it a great experience by collecting different bars see which ones you like the most. Engelhard are nice bars 2.
Head over to the next Melbourne Meet-up. Plenty of opportunity for cheap silver (and gold) there. Expecting next one late in July. Prior to that, head into Collins Street, there's a few places to buy there. Can't beat Gold Stackers LP silver for price. Always check to see if there are any buy-back bargains in stock. Cheapest around for Perth Mint and Scottsdale too.
Thanks for this - a bit confused though. 1kg PM bar is more expensive from Gold Stackers than Perth Mint itself and more expensive than Perth Bullion for Scottsdale. Think I'm missing something?
Need to consider shipping when it comes to silver. Perth mint bars tend to (but not always) be cheaper in Perth cause theres no shipping. Dealers have to pay shipping to get them to East Coast. You're in Melbourne, so it makes sense to buy local if shipped price is cheaper. Gold Stackers will usually match the shipped price of interstate dealers if you purchase in store.
