Why are you asking this??? There are no Perth representative here now. Bron left the mint. Ron retired. Bugger do I know. From what I can see, the mint are now busy. Delay are every where. I don't think there are anyone reading this. May be I should apply for a job at the mint.
exactly, not touching them. When the time comes, it'll be 1oz lunars for me - no chance of getting a fake with them.
I was thinking that if it does not affect their sales, why would they bother? How I wish I could get a job there too.
What are you LYAO about? None of my PM new certicards have peeled in half? How many fake certicards do you actually own to know they are better quality than PM certicards? Buyers are not exactly going to open their new certicards to check the security feature so that feature is only good when selling for scrap because every buyer who gets a new certicard that is not mint direct also will not open it to check the security feature! most people are too scared to peel off the bubbling cellophane cover!
Do you have any fake PM certicards? just wondering because chip seems to have plenty! I buy all mine from PB or mint direct apart from the odd one here and there from SS, Perhaps I should stop with the certicards and stick with the gold kangas if my only sell option in the future would be PM for the certicards.
certainly not, wouldn't own one if you paid me. If you know anyone in the PMs game that buys from the public (I suspect this is how chip knows as well) it's only a matter of time before you see them - they are becoming more prevalent. There absolutely no worry when buying from a reputable dealer, but would not buy outside of that. With that kind of uncertainty in the air, over time, I suspect there will be less buyers on here and ebay willing to take the risk.
About those fake items, how was their price tag compared to the "regular" one? "Description: Bullion bar, Perth mint Australia, gold plate" Regardless, the bar, metal itself shows inscriptions 99.99% pure gold 1 ounce. The person that wrote that "gold plate" in the description at the same time implicitly admits awareness of the false inscriptions.
The thing is, with a picture that isn't of the sold item, you can only find out after payment and receival. I think the difficulty relates to buying based on a pic rather than a seen-in-person. I also think that this is the case for a big majority of stackers including myself. If I order some items along a site then I can also only know whether or not the picture was of the purchased item itself or just a general one, after receival. Fakes may be not difficult to spot in person, but that last is rarely the case, I think.
Have ya seen my XRF device? Check out da post in the Fake thread. It not a joke, the amount of fakes out there.
You are laughing but seem to be missing the point! The new certicards with the "void" security feature are no good to anyone without XRF verification because nobody opens them to check the security feature so why did PM introduce the new certicard feature? Looks like I will only be buying them from PM in the future so will only ever get scrap return price on them. With your most recent certicard sales thread why did you not post pics of them with XRF results as you did for fakes? sort of baffles me given the buyer as well as your own uncertainty sentiment around certicards..
