5000 mintage (a little too high for my liking). Color is one thing, but these silver pieces look nice. I'm assuming they have a LITTLE relief. :D :D :D I mean, not Chinese type relief, but nice nevertheless.  Its a big mintage, but good for a couple in my treasure box. lol. http://talismancoins.com/products/65034

That's for rich men. I bought 1 for 69.00. This is for poor people like me. :D :D :D I can't afford 5 oz. I don't have money on trees. :D :D :D :D I have too many projects going on with my partner Andy, he's very demanding, and have high expectations on quality and what high relief is supposed to look like.   :D :D

Once you hold Chinese high relief medals in your hands, almost everything else looks like the steamroller ran it over before they put it up for sale! :)

Yes indeed, I know they aren't quite Chinese high relief, - the best in the world - BUT, they do look decent for 69.00. I'm rolling the dice on one. :)) May even get another one if I can sell some stuff. Geesh Louise, what are you waiting for Gaaaaaatito?? :D  :D

If you really want to know, I'm waiting for you guys to get some more worthy medals in stock that I don't have yet -- like those on my wish-list. Once that happens, I'll be glad to throw some more $$ your way.. ;)

Anyway, the Perth Mint high-relief 1-oz'ers like these ain't half bad. If one likes any given design, I say go for it.

True, not quite like certain Chinese medals, but I put them in a different category due to their size & concave minting style.

I'm definitely happy with my one coin.. Even came close to getting its 5-oz counter-part, but just not in the budget right now. Heck, still might try to make it happen, as I think it would be cool to have.

Meh, it's still $95 PLUS shipping so doesn't really work out. :)

Nice, that 5oz coin would be nice. It's a bit hard to see all the detail in the 1oz coin.

For anyone who purchased the high relief Ancient Chinese Mythical Creatures coin but hasn't delved into authentic Chinese medals, I strongly encourage you to spend some time looking at the threads in the Silver Stackers Modern Chinese Coins & Medallions sub forum ( http://forums.silverstackers.com/forum-54-modern-chinese-coins-medallions.html ) and hop on over to 2 of our own Silver Stacker forum members' site http://www.chinesemedals.com/ .....I'm convinced you'll be very glad you did.

The Ancient Chinese Mythical Creatures is a nice coin but pales in comparison to many of the superb ultra high relief authentic Chinese medals which the Ancient Chinese Mythical Creatures coin got its inspiration from.
