This is my first time on Silver stackers, I'm not sure this is the right forum to offer something for sale, if its not please let me know. I live in the Houston Texas Area, I have a ANACS graded MS 70 Silver eagle to sell. I have called some of the coin dealers in this area and only one of them knew that this is a very rare coin, most just want to give me the bullion price for it. The question is, does anyone know other than the auction sites where I could sell this coin and get a reasonable price. Thanks Tony
This is mainly an australian forum so eagles are not popular, there are some American users that frequent this forum that might be able to help you out or point you in the right direction
Daniel, Thanks for the info--Did not know it was mainly a Australian Forum. Is all the forums on Silver Stackers Australian ? Tony
Welcome to the forum tmack! If you haven't done so yet, you may want to post the coin details with pics and a price you are hoping to get here: http://forums.silverstackers.com/forum-52-usa-canada-public.html .

Easy Tiger.....NGC and/or PCGS are not the equivalent of ANACS....If I were to put a value on the coin sight unseen it would be the same as a raw one in an ANACS slab.
In either one of those slabs it a a pretty pricey item. ANACS just does not hold the same value in the collecting community. Mostly because the it is very likely the grade would be 1 or 2 levels lower in the PCGS or NGC slabs. Yes, I would buy one in those slabs without seeing it....my offer price would reflect that though and would be far less than what the coins are bringing on auction currently....Kudos to anyone who has one....it is quite a treasure.
I am unfamiliar with slabbed coins and graded coins, I know NGC would re grade and certify a PCGS without de slabbing it but not an ANACS without de slabbing, doesnt that sort of smell a bit given NGC ms70,s from the 1999 ase was much greater % with much less amounts graded than PCGS 1999 ms70 ase,s and therefore in a similar position to what ANACS are accused of? Question not being argumentative
Not sure what the differing populations means. In general NGC got into grading modern coins first and PCGS followed much later so that could explain the larger populations. ANACs is just not consider a top tier grading company. Prices reflect that.
I'd consider eBay.. Buy It Now, or a high start price for an auction-style listing. Of course, I'd send it in as is to NGC or PCGS first..
There is a huge difference on this coin between a 69 and a 70. It could pay quite handsomely if it crossed over. However, IMHO there is a very very very small chance that it would.
