Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. John Lennon Silver may or not go up, or down, quickly or slowly, but we stack nonetheless. In the meantime, we concentrate on quality of life.
I never said they will stay flat for ever I also dont think it will be 20 years but I dont see any meaningful gains to be made within the next few years.
If you care to go that route....when did silver even get close to USD$100 in that run from 2001-2011? IM not "poo pooing PM's" Im poo pooing nuff nuffs calling a near 650% increase (at todays prices of $US$15.48) in a very short timeframe when historically (using your quoted time range) it took from 2001 to mid 2010 to gain 600 % ....are you saying 9+ years is not a long time? Even the best run in that range from Mid 2010-mid 2011 isnt even 300%....... Happy to be proven wrong but doubt I will be. I'm not a bear, I'm not a bull....I am a realist.
Point taken. I was referring more in a general sense to those that keep using the past 4-5 years to argue that's how it will be forever (PM's down or sideways) and ignore times when PM's made great gains (silver from $3 to near $50), etc. I personally did not mention any time frame for when I think $100 will happen other than it will be here within 10 years. I think if/when silver goes to $100 it will be in a time of financial turmoil that most currently can't comprehend (or don't want to) because it will be worse than most alive today have witnessed (except those living in some 3rd world places that have seen crazy stuff via currencies, etc). Fiat economies are stuffed with monumental debt and are going to crash big time, sooner rather then later. Only one way for my silver to go is skywards. Who's dumb enough to put all their eggs in one basket?
the blue guy is a good reason you should not drink cordial silver -- which could not sustain you and that house I doubt is made of sold gold i.e. just an outside paint / cladding that is gold and it is still not silver ;p
but according to sammy he is taking his stack to teh grave with him never to be sold so he can purchase the necessitates of life -- which silver is not nor does a pile of silver contribute to your QUALITY of life unless you sell it for FIAT. So you might as well stack FIAT.
Was wondering what that was As opposed to Cordial Silver, Colloidal silver can in fact be beneficial. The smurph in the photo above was too greedy about it and consumed ridiculous amounts of the stuff.
Thinking of starting a new forum, which might prove very popular among some members here.. www.ihatesilverandgold.com
I've already created one. Only gets about 100 hits per month. I posted my complete story of investing in PMs. http://www.ih8preciousmetals.com
People seriously questioning whether silver will go beyond $20? WTH? It's going to smash $20 like a bulldozer through a straw house and $100 will come very quickly. This place seems to have lost vision of the bigger picture. I urge ppl to limit exposure to the negativity and spend time wisely by heading to Stockman's corner or over to Dave Kransler's site or Maloney's or Jim Sinclair's. SGT Report or ZH....Hugo Salinas Price is on a rip-snorter with his analysis of late, as is Hoffman and Holter. Willie is killing it too. The indicators and data is in and consensus is we're in the mother of all crashes. Companies and commodities that are bell-weathers for the health of an economy are already down up to 80%, some hitting historic lows (Baltic Dry, Bloomberg Commodities Index). Then we have NIRP that will absolutely, unequivocally drive investors to PM like never before.
