This thread and forum in general has revealed to me how American politics is such a topic of conversation in other countries. I didn't really consider that was the case before.
american politics has long been a topic of conversations in other countries, American domestic and international political policy affects the whole known universe.
In the time of the Roman Empire everyone talked about Rome and what was happening there and everyone wanted to be part of the Roman culture. In the days of the American Empire you effectively have the same thing, just much improved communication.
With the rise of China, will we one day be similarly interested in what happens there? or will the language barrier prevent that to some extent?
