Yeah I have some. Doesnt look fantastic, but hold the exact same value. They're investments not art.

Yeah haha i dont like their looks too, but then again if theres an economic crisis and everyone scrabbling for silver they wont care if its sexy, ugly or

covered in c**p because silver is silver =D.

Thanks everyone for giving me so much info when im just a newbie, you're all too kind =D.

Now i can make a better educated guess as to how I'm gonna purchase my investment.

Was thinking about lurking around the forums looking for deals and buying some silver from stores around sydney.

    Thanks again all =)

Anymore input would be greatly appreciated.

Which ABC are we talking about here? A common question I know. I think the newer bars may come from a different supplier, as the quality I see is quite good.

Am I the only few that don't mind ABC at all? All I care is the price, not look.

Renovator- I was more curious why they had a bad rep. I've held mine for a while and I am new to this forum so I don't hear what the silver community say. No biggie.

If anyone has noticed, the new PAMP bars have nicer fonts.

And they don't have the sideways vein type lines on them.

The new PAMP bars are sexy =D. Too bad I gave them to my gf, otherwise I would take 2 pictures side by side and show the differences.

I never buy ABC, they are ugly as hell.

Edit: 1kg bars.... check out www.abcbullion.com.au, the waiting time is around 6 weeks for delivery.

I'll give a +1 to Aurora et Luna - very easy to deal with and very fair prices.

I think the point of the question is that there are TWO companies in Australia named Australian Bullion Company - one in NSW and one in Victoria, unrelated to each other.

Business names are registered on a state basis, hence two companies with the same name.

Ok. Mine are stamped abc and I got them from abc Sydney, but they would buy back any silver - so I guess I don't really know for sure. But they are a bit rough.

Downies are open on a Saturday.

I was there today and they have Kooks, Koalas, 1966s and generic 'trade unit' rounds in stock amongst other silver as well

Well worth a look as they seem to be getting a slight influx from the average joes out there cashing in their metal on the recent spike.

I picked up 1oz rounds today for $2 over spot. Friggen happy about that I can tell you ;)

You can use the calculator here to work out what spot price is on all the pre-decimal stuff: http://www.silverstackers.com/calculators/index.php?page=1

You can add a 50c-$1.50 premium to the round 50c coins because they're popular and a smaller premium to the pre-decimal because they're mass produced but still minted with a known weight and purity.

For Perth Mint coins, check their website for the retail price. I usually buy my Perth Mint stuff from Steve because his prices are lower than retail (usually 2/3 the difference between between spot and retail, so $3-$4.50 per ounce cheaper).
