The 2016 Wedge-Tailed Eagle ushers in an exciting new Mercanti designed reverse. Make sure to stock up on this first-year release! Each legal-tender Silver Dollar contains one-ounce of 99.9% pure silver, with the Australian government's guarantee of weight and purity stamped right into the surface of the coin. They're also produced by the Perth Mint, so you know that they've been struck with the precision of the most advanced technology available. Designed by U.S. Mint chief engraver John Mercanti, you'll admire this coveted release for years to come.

new design done again by John Mercanti, imo just as beautiful as the first design used for the 2014 & 2015 issues

Those look nice. A little pricey for my taste for a bullion. Is it mint to demand? White spots on previous issues? Thanks

Why this time is on NGC's grading? I just checked on GM page. Does any one know if the PCGS one will be issued?

Not liking this design much compared to the last! way too passive. its as if PM has just swapped one bird for another kook for WTE?

This new coin is making the WTE more like the RCM birds of prey series but very good news for the holders of both 2014 and 2015 WTE that the design will not be the same every year as expected.

I believe this new coin will force 2014 WTE prices through the roof.

John Mercanti just signed a deal with NGC so I don't think these will be available with a signed Mercanti label in PCGS.

available at the end of the year. if we do not see more 2015 wte produced by the pm maybe the mintage of 2015 will be very low, even lower than 50.000 ?
i did not see them at the big german dealers and also demand in australia was not very high.

Maybe this is why they changed the design for 2016 after all the talk about same design every year? the remaining 2015,s may now start to sell quite quickly and become quite valued, who wants just a 2014 without its matching 2015! Will the 2017 be the same as 2016? keep everyone guessing to ensure strong sales.
    of each year.

Guys, what do u think of potential of 2015 WTE bullion version?
Would it hv a mintage of significant >50k? Should we bet on the new 2016 or grasp the 2015 while still available (what is the current market price now BTW)?
Thx in advance for ur inputs.

2015 bullion WTE is a "sleeper" you cant loose at current prices. Although many I am sure have already realized this. ebay prices have jumped and 2015 WTE may become another 2008 koala.

2014 and 2015 WTE are my favourite Perth Mint silver bullion coins! They have "class" and scream quality.

Just my opinion but remember before you buy I am very often wrong :)

I am also looking for 2015 WT Eagles. Checked on Google can't find any dealers selling them. Can someone point me in right direction please? Also how to buy the 2016 coin?

    Thx in advance.

I got some at $26aud when spot was around $21(aud), but that wasn't at launch. Amazing that a premium could jump so much ... It's the magic of marketing ... I just hope that they don't develop milk spots.

The coin shop that I work at has around 20 of the 2015's. Think I should buy them out?
