Definitely Penny Black. In my view, the design is superior.

Better design and I do appreciate the historical significance of the black penny stamp coin.

That being said, huge premium on both. $>600 aud can buy a lot more than 5 toz of silver

Thanks for the input. I slept on it overnight and decided that I really shouldn't be buying such a high premium coin of that size a purchase at this time..If anything, I have lowered my aspirations and might get the 1oz Penny Black (mintage 10,000) for ~$99 US.

    Cheers,

Yea that a lot for such a "large" mintage.

I ended up buying neither and decided to add to my stack of poured silver, as I have become increasingly attracted to these bullion products..not sure why , but likely due to their tactile nature. Stopped buy the Yeagers Poured Silver website last friday to see how the sale of his new limited 4oz dragons was transpiring (his prior online sale was a bit of a gong show as the website crashed) and picked up 5 of the 4oz- Arachnikats (serialized) and a 10 oz cube. I will post when I receive. His latest sale went swimmingly well as far as I know.

    Cheers,

I would have picked the penny black without question, 2015 is the second year of the wedgetailed eagles and I doubt any of them will hold up well besides the 2014s in the long run, if even they do. Like you I've been opting for lower premium silver as well, but I did get the beijing half ounce proof 2015 kooks!
