$100 for a $50 roll? WOW? Still better than Downies who are asking for $150 with a limit of of one roll per customer!! Seems this has become a cabal with most dealers starting at $100 per roll. I spoke with a senior person at RAMINT this afternoon who told me these coins will be available at a bank near you in all states at face value in bags of 25 coins between now and Xmas. BTW this senior person also suggested that the RAMINT has bags of 5 coins available at $10 plus $10 postage. You can do the math. Traditionally Westpac is the "bank near you:" Sydney Coins $100 Prospect Coins $100 VP Coins $100 Downies $150
I think it's well know these coins are available at the bank but you have to know somebody to get your hands on them One of the perks in working in a bank or armour guard is taking these coins out before they hit circulation and selling them or hoarding them
Hi all Hope everyone is well, In regards to these rolled coins. Here is the facts, this can still change as information from the mint can change. This is why I haven't posted anything yet. Orange 1. Rolls should have new wrapper that shows it is from the mint 2. There is a rrp price of $99.95 this can be followed by dealers or dealers can set there own price 3. Our allocation got cut by more then half 4. You can still try to find these coins from your local bank in bags and security rolls 5. 2 million coins is the mintage this is including the rolls 6. 6000 rolls were produced , don't ask me where it went as I dont know Red Yes there was rolls made 4000 rolls Hope this helps everyone James
Thanks James, I was waiting to see if you were going to post. I am not a collector of the rolls though a couple of people in my coin club usually pick them up to resell the coins individually. I can get small numbers from the mint in the 5 coin bags cheaper than buying the rolls by the looks of it and it looks like $4 a coin is too rich for me. I guess if you collected rolls then you would be willing to pay whatever it costs but I just like to put a couple away for a rainy day. I think that there will be some people putting together a set of the coloured coins but more than likely they will start producing more and more coloured $2 coins and the novelty will probably wear off, particularly if not many of them hit circulation.
I have ordered a Roll of Orange from Wynard's Coins and Prospect Coins. All the other dealers in this thread seem to be out. Anyone seen them available anywhere else? VP Coins, Sydney Coins, and Downies seem to be out.
Considering its Ebay, these aren't too badly priced. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RAM-ROLL...339688?hash=item3f56088968:g:rUQAAOSwo0JWKHWt http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-Roll-2...379577?hash=item1a085bbcf9:g:5bwAAOSw14xWKb8k Believe only 4000 rolls of the reds I'm sure its already been covered. Definitely worth holding onto 1 or 2 rolls ..... this series has great potential with some of the earlier coins already returning a nice little premium (even in circulated condition) Great way to get the kids interested in collecting plus educational as well
