For me it's also not easy to wait, but I prefer quality over speed.
It's sometimes also only because people think something will be hot, they rush with payment, forgetting that delays almost always happen. Some of people I kniw are from China and when they have some holidays they can last for quite some time.
Back from when I was young I always appreciated companies like Blizzard (World of Warcraft, etc.) saying they will release their games when they are ready, not on advertised release day. There were many cases when companies burnt themselves rushing toward date.
In a world when tomorrow is already yesterday and what was hit is now already obsolete is hard to expect any patience.
You prefer to have coin on release date with poor quality or rather wait a little bit longer and get something proper? Of course it can always happen that quality is still bad.
I wait for some stuff for few months, but I don't care as the speed of delivery won't affect my appreciation of stuff, maybe it will make it even higher.
And you can always demand money back if you don't like smth.

All I know is I'm looking forward to seeing the Odin. It can't arrive soon enough. I'm looking foward to seeing all the nuances and details...hopefully it is blow away. Choice Bullion is sold out. But, power coin still has some for about 201.00, which includes shipping I believe.

I went through my picture archive the other day and found this. Odin Hobo! I got it from Marcus Hunt (an artist out of UK) many years ago and thought I could share it here. I know it's not the same coin that everyone here talking about, but it's Odin :)

My coin but picture was taken by Marcus

I got the following message from The Coin Shoppe in Canada.

    "Hello,

You are receiving this email because you have placed an order for the most anticipated release of the year - the 3oz Max Relief Odin Coin.

The coin had an initial release date for the end of September, but that has been delayed to early November. Fortunately, the coins are minted and the only delay is the boxes; The factory making the custom wood boxes had trouble getting an inlaid metal plate perfectly flush and centered. They have now resolved the issue and we expect them to have box construction completed very soon.

    Regards;

    Jack - The Coin Shoppe"

Took them forever to delivered. Order was placed in August until now still no sign of the coin being delivered. Terrible.

The delay due to the box problem was not intentional nor anticipated. Sure delivery delays suck but there are much, much more important and pressing things that I choose to be frustrated about than a 1+ month delay on the first coin of a new coin series from a new small independent company.

If this was one of the long established large mints like the Perth Mint, then I would have a lot less tolerance because by now and with their enormous resources, they ought to have their act together.

Well, it's that time of the day and week. Have I told you lately how badly I want to see these? :D :D :D :D

If this goes beyond 1st week of November, then I will turn into a feisty cat. You don't want to see that.

So, it's best to make sure these are on the truck, with exceptional quality by end of Oct. Yes, that is a cat threat. :p

I think they already anticipate that the shipping won't commence until November.

The fact that Choice Mint is not willing to release an inferior product (even if it is the box) shows me that they are striving for high quality....I like that.

Now, what would be good business sense for Choice Mint to do is offer all those who pre-ordered this first coin, an extra discount on the next coin in the series as a way of showing their appreciation of our patience and our business.

    What say you Choice Mint???

I think those who have ordered should be able to get a discount on future available ones at the original sale price. :D

Of course I agree with you....I was totally joking about the freebies. The initial pre-sale offer price (the price I and hopefully most of you here paid) for this coin is very fair in comparison with coins that might be arguably comparable in quality. No complaints at all about the price from me....definitely getting our money's worth I believe.

Well, since they've stated that the coins are ready, and are only waiting on the boxes, then the least they could do for their customers is allow a "sneak-peek" & publicly post a couple photos of these finished beauties.. :)

I seem to recall Son-Montuno doing that with the delayed Lunar Skulls..

Actually, the sneak peak has been available since the first mention of the pre-sale of this coin in the SS forum. Simply take a look at post #3 in this thread.
