He ends up writing him a note that he can't open for 30 years. There are a bunch of people here on Silver Stackers that have had to keep this project secret for almost 2 years. Fortunately, the wait is nearly over. On the 21st of October 2015, the weather experiment's cover will be lifted, and we can all go Back to the Future.

It's no coincidence that the The Walk also premiers on 21 October 2015. Obviously the time continuum has been disrupted creating this temporal event sequence resulting in an alternate reality.
