I know the mountain resort is a small medal. And the details are quite good. However, they didn't seem to produce the desiered relief. It looks pretty flat if I don't say, especially compared to something like this... :D :D :D

This is why the brass summer resort is my favorite. Only 452 minted, I believe.

This looks like it is for the proof? If so, doesn't surprise me. Mine was a bird turd. The antique didn't fair any better. another turd. lol.

The regular PF's actually did pretty well (at least according to NGC)..

    http://www.ngccoin.com/coin-census/...ssic-gardens-summer-palace-gate-coinid-931162

    91.5% of 'em got 69-70

Then again, it is NGC.. ;)

BTW, looks like somebody recently got a few of those new "hand medals" graded (Ag & brass).

Not interested in them, though I "applaud" the mint for their effort to try something different..

Yeah, I got the turd, the lemon of this medal. And the guy I got it from was a friend, from China. LOL. No not Lucky. To his credit he gave me a credit. It wouldn't have been worth it to send back.

    Eh, bummer.

If it's the one in your earlier photos, then yeah, I can see it..

If not, then never mind! ;)

From all the photos of the other regular PF's that I've seen, they all look pretty good. Even PCGS had theirs at 68 & 69. True test is in-hand, of course.

But I do *not* personally like the antiquing job that they did on the PFMA's! Oddly, PCGS didn't seem to mind.

Otherwise, I think it's a great design on both sides, even though it's typically not my thang, with that there relatively lower relief.

    Woulda had me, too, if it weren't for the price-tag that I won't & can't pay.. :(

Almost got me on the rest of the series, for that matter.. Some nice work.

Finally I buy these pieces without white spot. Waiting for payment in rmb and shipping. It will take few weeks for me to sort it out.

Many collectors in Malaysia and Singapore complaint to me of the White spot so I buy it so carefully and ensure mine is good.

Sad to say even rhodium plating is used for this medal but white spot still common. However they have tried many new technology and methods on other aspects which is very important to the development of the industry

    Bullshit.

Ask him to register as trademark and patent it so he can take over NCS market share and be rich.
