Since we are in the topic of Chinese medals, can someone answer me on this:

With the right tools and materials (carving pens, drills, sandpaper to name a few), anyone can create "medals" at home and sell them, at a very limited mintage (5-10?). How does the Chinese government control these medal "makers"?

Some may say these are not from "official mints", but other than being qualified to be graded by NGC what else is missing for medals not minted from official Chinese mint?

I would've loved to have purchased the medal for a cheaper price, but the prices points are significanly different.

One thing I did want to mention, Western mints imitating/copying Chinese mints? Blasphemy! lol If only the western world realized that Asian countries in general can innovate and have innovated and don't just "copy" other countries.

I just went to Choice Bullion and First Coin Company's pages on the Odin coin....the prices of the coin has gone up a little. Are sales that heavy that the demand has driven up the price so quickly? It's only been like 2 days for goodness sakes.

I also noticed that First Coin Company now has a real easy way to chose between the same serial number subscription to the series and the standard Odin coin purchase:

Most hot coins start going up in price pretty quickly. I bet this one will be over $200 by September. If one wanted to get in on the party now is the time to act IMHO. The first of most series is the coin to have and I am sure that will be the case here also.

    Hello mm,
I found a better price on PowerCoin website:
    http://www.powercoin.it/en/oceania-...-relief-3-oz-silver-coin-10-tokelau-2016.html

Their prices on ebay are usually higher to feed paypal and ebay fees, but on their website I bought two coins at 159.95 (each).

I like also their advertising picture:

USD $159? When I open the link it states 160.95 Euro which is USD $186.77. Which incidentally, is not much more money than the disgusting and hideous Perth Mint's low relief Globs of Olympus 2 oz coin.

The Odin coin is a real bargain by comparison to the Perth Mint coin....the Odin coin by Choice Mint is a much better design, much higher relief, notably less cost per ounce, has the serial number stamped directly into the edge, and much nicer packaging.

Hands down winner = Choice Mint Odin 3 oz coin!

I get what you are saying Silverpv - it's been a rough past 3 weeks for silver and possibly the worst time in many years to release a collector (numismatic) coin because of the (temporary) very noteworthy spike down in the spot price (lowest point it has reached in years). That means, for some stackers who are also collector coin buyers, more of a focus on the lowest premium blobs.

Of all the recently released numi coins within the past month though, this "Max Relief" Odin coin seems to have gotten the most attention and stands (literally, relief-wise) considerably above the rest.

It has really high relief but the details are just not sharp enough for my liking, the coin may do well reselling etc, but could have been so much better imo as regards to the poor detail/sharpness.

Dont worry MSmissinglink just loves to get her Pannies in a wad over them for some reason , my guess she just missed the boat and is jelous.. I get sick of her posts shes got nothing better to do , and just look how she reacts when someone bashes a coin she likes . Get real Missing link!!
