^^^ Dolphins and boobies, a winning combination. Not sure if those seagulls pinching chips out of her hand is historically accurate.
Hmm.. She's looks a bit slutty. Would've preferred something classy like the Britannia. Perth Mint just can't get it right. Having said that, this is much better than Athena.
Aphrodite Roman name: Venus Symbols: Dolphin, Rose, Scallop Shell, Myrtle, Dove, Sparrow, Girdle, Mirror, and Swan
It can certainly be argued that the design is provocative by today's standards. I think anyone who considers this "a bit slutty" Aphrodite design not in keeping with the theme of the series, probably doesn't know much about Ancient Greece or Rome. Did the ancients worshiping Aphrodite even have a concept of a woman being slutty? I don't believe so, but if they did, in context it would have perhaps been considered a virtue, not a vice as it is today LOL. I'd argue you'd have to fast forward several centuries, into the Judaeo/Christian era for that to come into play. I think they nailed the design, and I'm guessing a lot of other folks will agree.
For those who'd rather not turn their computer monitor 90 degrees.. Wait- Is she showing some ankle?!?
