Source: http://agaunews.com/?p=21674 Really impressed with ths one. Amazing depth, very different look. Big hit I think. We've got loads of pictures, including the plaster sculpts, prototype line-art and a very nice video.
Wow! The wait was worth it! I'm getting one. Individualized serial number stamped right onto the edge of the coin...love that! .
I just learned that one of my favorite U.S.A. dealers has this Legends of Asgard coin available right now: https://firstcoincompany.com/S/toke...0-antique-finish-2016-max-relief-minting-3-oz Check out the new video.... holy smokes ! .
Now, that is just an awesome coin. I bet the 3 ounces in hand is even more impressive than the already impressive photos and video. Really really like this one!!!!
AgAuNews, you did a great job with the announcement page for this coin on your website! It's really neat to see the early illustrations and the plaster casts. Also, the history of Odin and the mint is a good read. I must admit, I knew next to nothing about Odin so I appreciate the background story there. I just ordered...and used a discount code. Free shipping from FCC is always a plus for me. .
All sellers have this coin on pre-sale. Choice Bullion order page has a check off which states: "I understand this is a pre-sale and agree to the delayed shipment as described below." .
Not bad, not bad at all! The design is a bit busy for me, at first glance.. But that can change over time. And a shame that Ol' Lizzy had to show up on something like this, but whatever. At least she's the flat side. Looks to be a pretty nice job on the relief. Keep 'em coming!
Upon reading the article, I take issue with this -- on at least a couple different fronts.. "An initial glance over the images has you wondering how that depth is even possible, approaching that of some of the many amazing Brass medallions issued in China by the Shanghai Mint which are actually cast, not struck."
I preordered 2 of these. I Hope they can fulfill my request! Also, how many are in this series total? I ordered from choice with the option to keep the same COA # across the series. Also they ship mid-late septemberit looks like. If this coin makes it or not, I like the style, much more so than what's currently available. Also being a first from a new mint can be promising. Time will tell. I have to ask, will there be issues with milk spots? btw. thanks for the 4% off..
As an owner of Gods of Olympus, pulled the trigger for this one Looks great. @AgAuNEWS thanks for discount; great website!
Almost as good as the Chinese. What's the saying? Imitation is the best form of flattery. They've done a decent job creating some good relief. The only negative I take up with the series is how they are limited on what they can do on the queen side, unfortunately. But, all and all, good job.o
