Ive just recently been given this sweet raw specimen (nothing expensive ofc), and am in two minds about what to do with it. Should I leave it 'as is' in raw state and make it a pendant for the Mrs, or maybe look to have *some* of the rough edges tidied up first with a cutter/polisher? My wife is in love with the ultraviolet flash, and also cant make up her mind. Part of us love the ragged look, but the other would love to see how it might look with some lustre. Also, if we go down that avenue, can anyone recommend an inexpensive (but good) gem cutters / polishers in Perth? Source:
If your willing to send it to Melbourne I have a mate who is a second generation Opal cutter His leaving for Lightning Ridge Opal festival on Monday so want be back for 2 weeks
Thanks for the heads up, SpannerMonkey. Ideally id like to find someone locally, just so I can have a good chat about what we might be able to do with it - but certainly failing that, I may come back to you and ask for his deets.
