For the first time since GFC ... http://www.ptcalc.com/live-precious-metal-prices.php Seems like about a $50-$60 AUD premium over spot to buy in Australia (cheapest option). If you want the platypus it i more like $100AUD
It just depends who you buy from.....ebay has a 2011 1oz platypus for $1074 USD. (That's the cheapest 1oz platinum I've found in any form, anywhere)
And now I officially have platinum in my portfolio. I can't pass up on the price - especially with the high premiums platinum brings.
You mean this deal? Looks good. http://deals.ebay.com/5002155538_20...rms=algo=DailyDeals&clkid=7632076102276711040
That's the one. Got a 1/10 oz gold Perth Kangaroo from them at a great price too. New seller, but fantastic prices and legit products.
....also....eBay charges 6% fee for powersellers + paypal fees. Makes you wonder how they profit. They must be getting steep discounts buying in bulk. (Only 35 left...)
Awesome, it does look pretty sweet. I'd like to have a proof eagle as well, but the price has to be right.
Some dealers still selling platinum platypus for $1478 AUD. WTF? Anyone know any dealers following the spot price plus standard premiums? Slam
"Standard Premiums" are much, much higher on Platinum. ESPECIALLY fractionals..... Edit: This shows the clear separation between the paper & physical market price.
It does and it doesn't, if you wanted you could take a cme platinum futures contract, all currently BELOW spot and then take delivery when it matures. You'd have to buy 50oz but maybe we could make it a forum group buy.
I'm on board. Holding off on silver for a couple months, but I love me some platinum. That would actually be very cool.
I just realised that you'd have to have a single 50oz good delivery bar, if you were handy with a band saw you might be able to cut 49 1oz bars out of it and keep an ounce of filings for yourself. You should keep an eye out for 1/2 oz platinum koalas around the place. You occasionally get them for around 10% over spot.
In Australia platinum is the only PGM bullion that you can get without paying goods and services tax (GST). Reached a low of around $1310 AUD today, back up to $1330 at the moment Baird and Co Platinum is only $65 AUD over spot
The problem is that it is even more impacted by economic uncertainty than sliver. Though at these prices and the GPR being inverse at the moment it's probably a good buy.
