Yeah, I just looked it up. Horseshoe Bend is a lot closer to Glen Canyon than the Grand Canyon National Park.

As an American I obviously heard of the Grand Canyon but I've never seen it. I didn't know about this Horseshoe bend. So when Provident showed the coin and said 'this is the Grand Canyon' ya know, I took their word for it.
I am so glad someone did some research and looked this up! This is sad and embarrassing. If nobody looked it up, I would be like all the others believing this part of the Grand Canyon.
And to think other countries will get this coin and believe the same. Or even worse, our own Americans.

I assumed the designer liked the picture of Horseshoe Bend and used that, but someone along the way was like, "Yeah but we can't put Glen Canyon on it. Nobody knows what that is. This is an 'American Landmark Series'. We have to put an iconic landmark. We'll just call it the Grand Canyon and hopefully nobody will notice or not care" Haha.

I did that a bunch of times and no where does that image show in the results. Here's a screen grab of my most recent search....

I was thinking it looked a fair bit like the image on the round / medallion or whatever it is :)

The exact angle doesn't come up that they used..that's why I posted it. But the rock formation is clearly Glens canyon. Every line in the rock lines up perfectly. Even provident metals page says it's horseshoe bend which IS NOT part of the Grand Canyon

Also, why is it called a collaboration between companies when it's actually all the same company? Provident metals is just Elemetals site to sell bullion. Google their address and go to steer view. They control all these refining companies

You seriously don't think that I could find any picture of Glen Canyon with any search engine? You've got to be joking.

I was looking for that picture....do you have a link? There are many pictures that look similar that can be found using a good search engine but are not the reference picture used for this 2 oz silver round.

swoydaz, how you could not understand something so simple as that is a bit startling.

Technically, they could actually all operate as separate and distinct companies / businesses and so it wouldn't be technically inaccurate to state that it's a collaboration between those companies. Now whether there was any significant duties all of those companies was performing is another question.

It's quite a mystery since most photos of that natural canyon feature states that it is part of Glen Canyon yet a couple state Grand Canyon. Who is correct?

You have already alluded to my low IQ.

I'm sorry, but the emoticons are beyond my capacity to decode.

Any chance of a moronic explanation, preferably in English.

    Thanks for the update jgreene99.

I mailed my check yesterday but they hold personal checks for at least 5 days so it will be a while before I get mine.

At the price they are selling these high quality rounds, it's a bargain in my view, a bargain I was not willing to pass up.

That's right, it's not really a coin is it.

Still waiting for your illumination, mmissinglink.

I guess it would be considered a medal of Glen Canyon if we wanted to be technical ;)
