    My advice..
    1. Buy whatever silver you can get as close to spot as possible. Don't get sucked into high premium anything, get as much silver for your budget as possible.
    2. Don't go telling everyone your stacking, keep it to yourself. That mean girls, best friends, pretty much everyone except your parents and even then I would be vague.
    3. Put your silver somewhere safe.
    4. Don't over spend...it's not a race
    Good luck young man.

Learn about gold and silver hallmarks and purity. Hunt for bargains in yard sales and household clearance. Learn to calculate the pure silver/gold content based on weight and only pay less than spot (at least 15% less). Spend at least 50% on gold. Stay away from internet purchases and do it in real life. Learn how to acid test and get a decent scales. Never offer the asking price and always be prepared to walk away if you are not buying on your terms. Do not buy plate. Treat it as a hobby. Stay away from high premiums. Match what you spend on silver and gold in cash saving match the cash and silver spend on stock purchases that pay a dividend have a low PE and a good cash balance, or other investments that produce a return. Do not spend anything unless you have cash in hand to cover at least a months expenses. Don't tell anyone about your cash and silver/gold especially babes you want to impress or broke friends. Do not tell anyone your home address. Let local sellers like lcs know you can be contacted in person with offers for PMs if they need cash. Avoid plastic credit an borrowing like the plague unless you are doing property and only buy property when the newspapers are writing about how bad the property crash is(this will happen).

Always leave some cash for yourself to just have a bit of fun with every month.

    Go forth and kick ass.

Buy what you like. You don't have to do anything uncomfortable, you don't have to go crazy and load up like a madman at the expense of the rest of your life. A little bit here, a little bit there. It all adds up. Since you're in the UK I'd find ways to avoid paying VAT.
