I've posted this in another thread. You should buy more cos they're cheap as hell for a kilo lunar (especially as older year). http://www.apmex.com/category/90174...nar-horses?utm_campaign=06122015category90174
It is times like this that I need a lazy $20,000 laying around to buy 40 of them. You could easily flip them on ebay for a $200 profit and make $8000. As my wife would say ...holey guacamole.
Maybe Perth Mint subscribe to Rambus Chartology and realise that a gold price of $700 would mean a silver price of about $8 so best they sell now rather than at $300.
This might sound bad. But usually these flash sales happen before a big drop. Still a good deal though
It is as good as a predictor as anything else I suppose. It will be interesting to see if you are right.
Usually (most of the time, exceptions seem to be around big multiyear trend reversals) big price drops origin from the mass dump / shrinking of the futures component in the spot price. The last such dump was a serious one: 09/06/2015 35941 $16.13 02/06/2015 57569 $16.70 Just 57 cents, yet the futures component shrunk with 21628 x 5000 = 108 Moz, being over 10% of an annual traded, in a single week. Apparently, quite some buying on the cash market offset the effect of it. A "normal" drop would have been $1.5 (so $15.2 instead of $16.13). This situation barely changed since end last year, in the years before, everytime a new low occurred, this has, at the moment, stalled.
Wow, amazing you can buy a kilo coin for the same price as a kilo bar. Usually they trade at a decent premium. Maybe you can wait 12 years until it is the year of the horse again and get some collector value as well
My phone didn't have service to get the email about the sale... Man I'm jealous of those who got one!
I'm jealous of every sale that comes up in the US. I can get around a company not shipping to Australia, but it's rarely cost effective. I work close to the Perth Mint, but locals get taxed extra so there is no value to be found there. Anyhow... Congrats to everyone who managed to grab one of these
One side of this story is that, unless Apmex ordered them from Perth Mint, some (or someone) must have sold their kilocoin stack lunar horse 2014 stock back to dealer. Did they need the dollars now? Was it ment as a 'get out' / sell high'? Whatever it was, one will be wrong and one will be right. Both can't.
