I acquired a few shares in ASX listed Papillion Resources limited (PIR) last year. There was a merge with a Canadian company B2Gold. Now they have been removed from my Etrade account and I am unsure how to access them. I'm guessing I'd need to set up an account with the Canadian exchange? Unfortunately for me I buy and let it ride (at least for a couple of years), therefore tend to disregard some important changes in my holdings, evidently, lesson learnt. Any advice appreciated.
According to http://www.delisted.com.au, you now have 0.661 shares in B2Gold for every PIR share you held. See: http://www.delisted.com.au/company/papillon-resources-limited
Copy that, I've followed that part. My concern is if I wanted to sell, how would I go about it? Set up an account on Toronto Stock Exchange? Can Etrade alow me to add TSO listings to my portfolio?
No experience in this but it looks a bit like you can deal with them through etrade just using your domestic account. https://invest.etrade.com.au/Help/Context.aspx?key=GlobalSharesHelpCenter
Fwiw, There's several forms to fill out available on the Etrade site which opens up access to global exchanges. Thanks for the steer guys.
Another strategy might be an off-market transfer to a Canadian stacker or relative (if you can find someone interested in the shares), in return for PMs or fiat.
