Last time i looked at Apmex it was a minimum $2500 to deliver over to us on NZ.
Having looked at their site this morning they have lowered their minimum order to only $250USD.
Postage is only $50 +0.30 an OZ.
Next big dip and i think we will (for the first time i can recall) have a decent buy up from them.
The prices their fractional gold , even after $ conversion can not be beaten over here.
1/10 generic gold rounds bought in bulk would still clear an easy $15 return and maybe even $20 on a good day.

They are making good money on the postage then seeing actual cost is only USD$25 for 50 oz from USA to Australia

    About US$40 or AU$52 profit on the postage then? (for 50oz: US$50 + (50oz x US$.3/oz) = US$65, US$65 -actual cost of postage (US$25) = US$40)

So the items would have to be about AU$1/oz cheaper to make it worthwhile, or unavailable in Australia. Either way, it's better than it was.

I don't think they use USPS? Courier is going to cost way more than $25.

After watching a LOT of youtube videos and hearing about the deals these guys in America get, I wanted to ask how we can get Silver close to spot in Australia. I guess this may be as good as it gets over here. Please let me know if there is any better way.

For new silver, as mentioned above, BIGs has the lowest premiums. Otherwise, watch the forum and you'll often see silver for sale close to spot, or even at spot.

Anyone had any problems with customs though?
Anything over AU$1000 (inc postage) will likely get flagged.
So if you bought under $1000 to avoid that, $50 postage is 5% right off the bat.

There is no import tax for precious metals in NZ.

Thanks Miloman & SilverPete for you comments. I checked out BIGs' website and found what I was after. I'll keep an eye out on the for sale section here too.
