Are the Atocha coins minted from the haul?

Back in the 80's sometime, while Fisher was in court about the ownership of the salvaged goodies, I visited a "museum" in Key West where it was all on display. The museum was a small Key West wood framed house. I remember large silver bars just stacked 5-6 high all around the perimeter.

    Nice picture from a P&S

I think part of the problem with the 1622 Atocha cobs is the price-point.

Was a bit hesitant in paying what I did (at the low end of the range).. Even though they're really cool.

Moonlight Mint is never cheap, sadly. Still glad I got mine.

The 2R -- from St. Augustine?

If so, I just got my Potosi 8R & 1715 8R in today.. And WOW!

Took a while, but it was a custom order.

Will have to do a review later.. But very impressed!

Is the cross from there, as well? Sort of looks like it would be..

EDIT: Just noticed that your 2R are identical. I guess *not* from St. Augustine! :)

    Hello Cat Bandit...

I love the 1622 Cobs and am working on filling a small treasure chest full of them. I have around 15 or so.....

the 2R's are cheap pueter wannabe's that I often purposely throw on the ground at various ghost towns and old Spanish settlements that I often visit. I Photograph ghost towns and do a lot of ghost town hunting.

I have a large order in the works from Ryan, 25 pieces I believe, and the #8 coin struck from the 1715 die set. Since my order is somewhat large it is taking time and that is killing me. I am debating on the 1/10 oz Gold pieces, I think I might jump in for 10
but I wonder if and when the time might come to sell how hard the gold might be. I don't buy any of these pieces to sell them however that is still a consideration for me. When these pieces come in I will share some images.

the Cross was found in the ghost town of Shakespeare New Mexico.

    Ah, thanks for the info.

    #8 of the 1715? I've got lower.. :p

Didn't realize it was so early into the series!

I've read the website, and watched the videos.. It's amazing how much work goes into these things.

And then I get them in, and find out there's even more involved! Really nice job, from start to finish.

Yeah, the wait was killing me, too. And I didn't order that many, heh. Was getting a little worried, as it was my 1st.

Certainly won't be my last, though.

Those sharp strikes look hot!

Yeah, Ryan's definitely a cool (and talented!) guy..

How did you originally come across his work?

I mainly found it while searching on YouTube for those 1622 / 1715 Moonlight Mint replicas a few weeks back, and stumbled upon his videos. I think I heard the Saint Augustine Mint name in passing a while back, too, but never really looked into it at the time.

Anyway, definitely a fan! And I don't want to publicly say what's coming down the pike, but from the sounds of it, I definitely want to pick up a couple.
