Oh it starts much earlier than that. This is the credit card game at the Delaware Children's Museum, sponsored by Chase (yes, the bank / credit card provider). It's in an exhibit in the museum called "Bank on It" which is described as: We went there in December while up in that part of the states - went with a relative so we had a 2yo and 3yo in tow, and these exhibits are basically aimed at that age and up. You could feel the conditioning just oozing...
I don't have any kids, but I not supprised...to see that. I guess it is up to us, the "informed" to educate the younger generation on proper use of credit.
[soapbox mode] Well said SparkySilver! Hey, thanks for sharing all this with us - and for all the younger stackers out there, students and such, listen to the man! I believe a person's net worth is counted in more than just finances, but I think how you approach your money is an indicator of how you approach just about everything else. More net worth to all Silver Stackers! [/soapbox mode]
Thanks Sparky, that was all extremely interesting. It makes you wonder how far housing is going to fall here. I mean we do have some "differences" to the US market. This doesn't mean I believe in the "Australia is different" thing btw. I'm still going with my 50% prediction for the Perth housing market although I do tend to think it is being conservative and may ultimately be much lower for awhile before bouncing back up.
Lucky you guys dont buy scrap on a daily basis..... i come across beautiful gold coins, bars, pieces everyday and before you know it you have a kilo of the stuff sitting there with no spare cash hehe.... My way now is unless it really stands out i just refine it.
Maybe he'd prefer the cash, so he can buy a car Nice social experiment this one. Keep us posted Sparky !
I dont regard is as spending at all. Quite the contrary in fact-u have saved 10k in the last 3 days. Thats the way stackers should think.
Be careful with silver around your wifes, invest in some flowers for her from time to time. One of my buyers was in a process of divorce, one day she took all his silver stash and sold it for half the spot and kept all the money.
If you trade your wife you won't have to buy her flowers, then you can use part of the proceeds to buy more silver. The balance could be given to someone who's prepared to take your Mother In-law for it
Was the standard wages in the US always lower than in Australia even before GFC? How come the house price here is much much more expensive.
I thought it was just me but now I've found this site I can see I'm not alone, I just hope I haven't joined the party too late. I have just registerd and come from the land of 20% VAT on silver. (Macclesfield) Out of interest does anyone have a preference for Kooks or Koala's and why? Having read about the Andean Silver Cats on this site have just put an order in for the 2011.
Welcome silverine. I think the general preference is Lunar > Kookaburra > Koala, but some people are Kookaburra fans foremost. cheers
Thanks goldpelican Spent 6 months in Melbourne in early 90's and did the 500km Victorian Cycle Ride around Tasmania. You live in a great place, enjoyed it immensely.
I went by this house yesterday... the for sale sign was down. I also called the seller again and left message.... still no reply.
