The video in the above link shows where the crooks smashed into the top of the brick liftwell on the building for access into the building, and later bricked it up with new bricks and mortar afterwards!

Security guard told a customer "I don't get paid enough" in response to when he was asked why he didn't bother to enter the building and check the premises when an alarm was triggered on Friday.

It's in the news no end over here, getting bored of hearing about it.

I guess it's a welcome distraction from the constant yap about the impending General election.

    Yawn

My guess is, is that silver was probably the least desirable valuable to be snitched because of its weight. Portability, the main advantage gold has over silver proves to be a negative in this instance.

Well that's a bunch of bollocks! Don't get paid enough lol.

I hope the SDBs in Singapore are a step above the rest when in comes to security. Apparently Degussa will be the next player opening up SDBs in Singapore.

The security guard who heard the alarm said "I don't get paid enough" when asked why he didn't investigate

if they only managed to open 70 out 600 (assuming they selected boxes randomly), the gang may have of found it difficult to open the remaining 500 boxes or maybe they didn't bring enough trucks.

They probably had time to look up customer records and only hit the boxes they figured were worth hitting. Faced with the choice of "London Diamonds R Us" or "Ms Hetty Smith, 93", Hetty probably got to keep her husband's war medals.

I love how a company has hundreds of millions in goods stored but are to cheap to have 24hr surveillance of the sit.
I don't blame the lone security guard. If he had entered alone then we would have heard that security guard dead in botched robbery.

He was probably just some guy on minimum wage with minimal training. If he was involved then he'd have done a runner by now.
