    Hi there,

    I have an item that sort of looks like an ashtray (but isn't) and it has pressed into the metal DNS? with 1084 pressed into it too (from what I can make out)
    I don't think its silver but I am still curious as to whats pressed onto it.
    It also has the Melbourne coat of arms on the front as little medallion.

    sounds like a registered trade mark number. pics would help
    click on the "upload image" tab at the top of the screen.
    choose an image to upload by clicking on browse. then submit it and you will have 2 address options.
    copy the one that says image and paste it in this thread

    I think it originally said
    EPNS which stands for electroplated nickel silver, so not sterling silver

    but yes on this forum most likely you wont get much. you just have to find the right buyer
