Follows last years Saltwater Crocodile with the same spec, basic design and one-million mintage. I like it, probably better than last years. Source: http://agaunews.com/?p=17874
Same, I like it more than the croc. I've never seen one in the flesh over here... Which I'm quite happy about. Still cute though
I find one every few years hiding around my verandah. When I catch one, happy to trade you a real live one in a jar for a coin facsimile. Risking my life has got to be worth an oz.
A German dealer has had it up for two weeks and I ignored it as I got caught last year, but one of Perths biggest dealers has gone live with it, Texas Precious Metals. The full works, front page sliders, full page images, news page and up to buy. Given how big a dealer of Perth stuff they are, the embargo is now pointless. Perth Mint are brilliant with the media, but we get no real info from the bullion department.
Ehh not bad, I think they are on to a good thing with this line of bullion coins, so long as the premiums stay in line with ASEs
Dealers get early commercial-in-confidence announcements, but they are only provided to distributors, with embargo dates. It's not supposed to be advertised, let alone orders taken, until 16th March. There's always a distributor somewhere though that flouts the rules.
Really like the design Here on northern beaches of Sydney is "funnel web central" particularly in summer and particularly after rain (drives them out of their burrows" and the males go "wandering" looking for Mrs Right. Leave them and they will leave you alone (hopefully) What's this series called? Things that will kill you ? First the croc, shark, (the 1/2 oz), funnel web, maybe next - the cane toad ? The cranky cassowary ?
I like it - the design takes up a lot of space on the coin so I think looks more 'natural' than the croc design I just hope they differentiate the tube so you don't have to break the seal to know if it's a croc or spider
How do you figure that TPM is one of Perth's largest distributors? They have 2 different Perth Mint silver coins listed on their site, they aren't even close to the largest in the US, much less worldwide.
So are these actually part of a series with the salty? I wonder if they will do anything with the Wedge tailed eagle or if this is their new BU line. I do like it. I was very kindly offered a couple tubes at a very good price by Argento but I'm tapped. If they are the start of a new series that changes each year (a low premium/mintage lunar) it could be a pretty good buy.
