COIN RELEASED FROM 8:00AM (AWST) 15 APRIL 2015 Does anyone know anything about this coin ? No images out yet i guess its not till april will there be a low minatge? price?
I bet this will be stunning. The kilo proofs are a bit out of my price range. I know they stopped the 1oz and 2oz proof kooks in 2005? But what years did they mint the kilo proofs? Or have they just started?
Let's hope they've resolved that one small issue: Source: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-59134-milkspotting-on-perth-mint-2015-kilo-kookaburra.html
They go at least as far back as 1994 http://forums.silverstackers.com/to...proof-kooks-possible-trade-for-round-50s.html Haha sorry, couldn't help myself. I really like the 2015 design. Anyone know what the retail is on this? I believe they have made them from the start in 1990.
Just noticed the link below the pic! Thanks! Thats a shocker, i will comment in the associated thread.
Thanks! Great prices. If I had capital now I would buy. So did they produce bullion kooks for all years as well? Or the early years were only proof in the kilo version? I think I might eventually collect a full date run of kilo BUs, maybe some proofs too if I can get a few and not too much of a premium compared to BU's But first I need to collect the 1oz / 2oz proof kooks, they are more affordable
Mintage is 500 of the Kilo Proof Kookaburra - very small allocations for dealers Desing same as 1 oz Proof Kookaburra Premium is okay IMO
I might get one depending on price I've got a few kilo kook proof sets, love em & touch wood not a milk spot in sight.
I only know the premium for dealers - don't know what the premium for retail will be But when I compare to Canadian Kilo Proof coins it will be reasonable priced
Pricing is as per other Perth Mint kilo silver proofs, A$1750, but as MDAMDA mentioned, there are very small allocations in Australia, most likely a big European or USA based dealer has taken the bulk of the mintage.
Good luck with that. Hopefully no spots will show up in the mirror surface. I'm placing my bets accordingly, and not buying.
