I doubt that anybody cares, but just in case... That round brass thing imbedded near the bottom left of the bar isn't a "bullet rim". It's a cartridge base.
Quote from when Capone established a milk distributor, Meadowmoor Dairy, after learning that the profit margin on milk was higher than on booze or beer: "Honest to God, we've been in the wrong racket right along!"
Common knowledge in the US. about the shell casein if you hunt with a gun that uses a center fire cartilage . Wonder who will be on the next coin John Gotti or Pretty Boy Floyd? FYI the two side arms cast into the coin are not .38 specials, if anything they would be a .380 or .45 cal. as the .38 special is usually a revolver round.
Pre-sale on ebay up to $233 USD. http://www.ebay.com/itm/History-of-...374?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4634fb2e6e
True story. When doing a family tree several years ago it was discovered, on my wife's side, that we were related to one of Al Capone's head henchmen.
That's nothing I'm related to a few Russian's in New York that run the area And on the old man's side the Hollywood music Mafia who write most of the music scores for most of Hollywood
read this in your best nasally 'anorak' voice... but shouldn't it be this case on the coin?. Elliot Ness and his untouchables used it to get through Alphonse's lads' body armour.
Ironically that's the common for the flat feet, gum shoes and bulls. Not really appropriate for AL Capone. I think a .45 in a drum mag is more him. Whitey Bulger next?
My prediction for next in the series: Bonnie & Clyde or Jesse James. Either way this series looks a bit over the top, both in price and theme. The bullet doesn't make it for me. Just my opinion.
I like the coin, the idea is very original, and mintage is very interesting. This could become a "cult" coin in my opinion. Alex.
It hasn't been released yet, release date should be in May. Suggested retail price by the issuer is $200 USD.
I don't think I would say this, there are a lot of different shaped coins out there. Were this not legal tender, I'd have agreed with you that it would have just been a fancy silver bar. Legal tender in my opinion is the difference between a bar/medal and a coin.
Oh I must of been confused. On the agaunews site it says it's available for pre order from the blue link at the bottom of the page. When you click the link it takes you to the site but it says out of stock on the site
That link does take you to the site of the company that commissioned it, so it's possible they had it available for pre-order at one point.
