I think silver is a much better deal at the time. I guess a better question would be what would you think a good gold/silver ratio would be in holdings?
How much silver do you have? You need more! Lots more. There is no magic ratio or silver to gold holdings. Everyone has their own level of comfort. I started off with silver but have started adding gold because I need the space. I am back on the silver because I think it is better value than gold at the moment and I hope to swap some silver for gold later.
As much as you can afford to lose Plenty of variables to consider but think I bought my first gold after about 10kg silver. Though a $400+ per ounce drop helped that decision.
If your a believer in the Gold/Silver ratio some would suggest you don't need to buy gold at the moment, just swap your white metal when the time comes....Otherwise it's the vibe!
I feel like some of that ice magic on my ice cream tonight also you must have 642oz of silver before getting your first oz of gold. Not an oz more and not an oz less
Gold is the "king" and in most countries you'll have an easier time selling your gold. Silver can bring better profits and it's a great buy right now, but selling it will be a lot harder. You don't have to buy silver at all, if you don't want. Gold is the top hedge and safety asset.
I like to have about 1 oz of gold for every 50 oz of silver. This isn't based on any magic number but it is nice and round. I was buying a 1/10th oz gold coin for every five 1 oz silver coins because it just felt right. I don't have much gold... or much silver lol.
Start digging a hole in the backyard and get the misses to dig one beside you at the same time, when she has had enough of digging fill hers with Gold and yours with Silver then you have the perfect ratio.
Though if you want to keep things interesting, be sure to slip a little in the wrong hole every now & then..
