Ok i dont have a great stack but I like to take my 1oz minted bars out of the protective plastic, I cant see the modern bars being worth much more than spot in the future but it has limited what I buy because if I bought a pamp or two with high premium I would just get the scissors out on that lol
Anyone else like to touch their silver with "bare hands" and leave it to air dry?

I keep my bars in the plastic because the nicer they look the easyer I believe they will be too sell. I like poured bars and pre 65 US silver coins because I can fondle them as much as I want. When I first started I had one new bar, round and coin to fondle so I could get an idea of what real silver felt like.

You are of course 100% correct.

I am starting to think vintage bars are of superior quality.. modern bullion is natty! All milky and steely looking.. go the old skool

Also plastic is not what i am stacking.. space in my safe is limited.. its gonna need to be a nice graded coin to take up that space.. no lunars qualify for mine!

1-oz minted? I just put 'em in air-tites.

    Don't have many, anyway.

OP, at the very least, wash & dry your hands well first.. and only hold by the edges.

If you really want to fondle your silver, maybe poured/cast bars would be a better bet. That way you can get your grubby mitts all over them to your heart's content, then just wipe them down afterwards with a microfiber cloth. :)

Maybe it is just me but after a while I don't even look at them let alone have the desire to touch them.

It is probably because I get a lot of junk silver and spend a fair bit of time cleaning all the dirt off them, the novelty soon wears off.

Why don't you just buy Atlantis mint silver bars they are not sealed in plastic? These bars are nice and shiny plus you can fondle and hold these baby's all you like with no harm dune.

Or you can do like I do, keep one coin on you to fondle, tickle, cuddle with (whatever your thing is) and keep the rest sealed.

I have a bit of OCD and like them to all look and stack the same! I just cant be doing with odd plastic baggies and those singles cut from sheets and is there any point in putting them in airtights? just adds a dollar to the purchase price of each bar?

Why bother with shiny.. all the antique looking bars that are bear up, were used as door stops, that are tarnished.. sell of the highest premiums on here.. maybe there's anew business opportunity to apply "the antique look" to silver bars to gain higher premiums

Bought an air tight 20x1oz stacker box, it looks like it wont keep the air out but it keeps my OCD happy! all neatly stacked and naked :) I will buy a few more.

I just dont believe that natural toning will affect the price of 1oz minted bars, seems they tone up over time even in the original plastic from the mints.
