Hello everyone, just wanting some of your vast knowledge of silver if you know much about the Swiss of America rounds, they are very think and chunky. Just wondering if they carry a premium or not. Are the 5oz rounds uncommon?

I have a 1oz Swiss of America.. you should expect a premium, rather rare and vintage with some novelty value given there unorthodox chunky dimensions.

Run an auction for them on Silver Stackers! Good way to assess market value. I am sure there will be a lot of interest in them. Wouldn't mind one for the collection. The design with the big eagle and star looks great.

Thanks Whinfell, that helps give an idea :)

Silver Kook: it sounds tempting to do that, I only have one of them with the eagle and star on it, that one has a serial number stamped on the side of it also unlike the other ones.

Reminds me of the Fortuna Redux 5 oz coin. Same chunky shape.

Beautiful, thanks for posting. I have some of the 2.5 ounce Swiss and love them.

Some of you need to get out there more.. :p

Or maybe it's more of an American thing?

Anyway, looks like 13 of the 5-oz varieties sold on eBay in the past 3 months.

Compare that to 135 of the 1-oz varieties.

And just 2 of the 2.5-oz.

Am I the only one here who doesn't particularly care for them?

Guess they're relatively okay enough, as there's certainly worse out there.. Just something about them that's just "meh."

Lousy coining quality but I like the concept of a thick 5oz.
