Do you think that the market is softening up on the Chinese Panda series overall? I would like to hear your two cents worth on the matter....

What about in the long term? One example I can think of would be the 2000 "mirror" coin, said to be one of the top, if not the top, rare coin to have. I have seen the price dropping slowly on that coin alone. It makes me wonder if the coins of 1990-1999 will have a slow appreciation in value, or if the value has already reached the apex?

nah, longterm Pandas are as safe as investments in metals come.

May seem a little sluggish at the moment but that's due to the price suffering in recent times.

I've asked some of my chinese friends, and they said this guy doesn't sell fakes. He probably just got these, and posted them, and NGC hasn't had time to update? I wouldn't buy it regardless. Not until I saw it posted. He sold one (ebay history) and I put in the number, and it didn't show up. That's nuts for whoever bought it, but didn't confirm no thanks.

These panda medals just got graded very recently, NGC has yet to update their database.

Maybe a dumb question, is these a new version of ncg holder (without the "edge view")?

Its a 60-grams medal (close to 2oz), at 45mm diameter it will be difficult to see the edge of the coin unless NGC fits it with their bigger holder.
As a reference usual 1oz silver panda has a diameter of 39mm.

    Thanks.
I have this question because recently on ebay I have seen some holder like this:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2008-Chi...5633939?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item2c8f790493
    as oppose to this:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2008-Chi...5937588?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item2a49274834

I am wondering if the first one is real (serial can be found on NGC but no image available to verify). I thought there should be 4 claws around the coin and this example should not have the size problem you have mentioned.
Hope you or someone can help.

So what is everyone else's thought on the matter about the value of Pandas overall?

I was looking at a 2007 xi-an slab bed ngc by the same seller, and that ngc number wouldn't come up either. All of those coins might be counterfeit!

Both 3137394-094 & 3250386-116 show in NGC's data base for me... I am unsure of what the problem was.
FWIW, qianscoins is a known reputable dealer if you were referring to his coins. http://www.qiancoins.com/
