True, but you can't argue with their better selection & availability, compared to quite a few others. Besides, in *some* instances, their premiums & promos can actually be competitive. My order a few days ago was only a couple ounces of semi's, barely above their $ minimum..
Yikes, from a quick glance, it doesn't look like they even adjusted their eBay prices, which includes "free" shipping, during the promo at their main site. Why pay less when you can pay more!
I've noticed that there ebay prices are pretty much the same as there credit card purchase price on the site.
What you have to watch is that during the free shipping, their bid-ask quotes are higher. For one or two coins, you are still ahead. But buy several coins and you were better off to pay shipping and get lower bid-ask quotes. I avoid their free shipping promos.
I also find there shipping from Oklahoma is really slow. I have had a package in limbo in Oklahoma City for three days now.
Sometimes their ebay store is good for a single coin but I've found a lot of their more interesting stuff they don't sell on ebay. I thought about making an order of a couple small things (like a 2014 1/20th and 1/10th silver Libertad) but there isn't anything I want besides those two items right now and that's not enough to reach $49. So not gonna happen for me.
On a percentage basis, not really.. They always tack on at least a couple extra bucks to make up for that "free" shipping. Small eBay orders usually only make sense up to a certain point.
Holiday shipping delay? Either way, that sux, given what's inside those boxes. Maybe I'm just lucky, but my Apmex orders always arrive quickly. Unless UPS handles it..
I see that to qualify for the free shipping, they recently bumped up the minimum order from $49 USD to $99..
Nah every order I seem to get from them gets delayed in Oklahoma... Maybe it's just how the usps routes work from there to vt
