    Hey All,

Have been looking for a decent storage container to store my small stack but i want to grow into it. I have read that PVC and silver don't mix well. I haven't come across any purpose built containers and i have noticed that my Maple leaves have developed milk spotting. I know that this is common but i want to reduce this sort of thing happening as much as possible. I have been looking at this container:

    http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail/Case/1510/

It is made of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) Does anyone know about that material? It is an acrylic. Is there anything about this material that can cause adverse effects to my stack? It seems strong, is water tight (o-ring) sealed. Also will have ample room for me to grow into.

Do you guys have any opinions on this?

Ive been using a pelican case to store silver for a few years now with no troubles what so ever.

I just make sure the seals are lubed with silicone oil and keep a silica pack in there to deal with moisture. I also sealed up the valve to make it air tight but thats optional.

What did you use to seal the valve?

You could just use vacuum sealer bags and then maybe put them into those 50 cal ammo boxes, they are cheap and have an o-ring on the lid to seal them.

    Just a thought

What silver do you intend to store? I have some round 50's in an aluminum poker attach, perfect fit for them and handier than tubes.

Nothing fancy, just a few layers of duct tape where the hole is on the inside of the case. Didn't want to use a more permanent method of sealing it up.

50 cal ammo cans are priced at about $20, I usually get my cheaper.
    Carrying handle. Nice.

Vacuum sealed bags. Can't go wrong with those. And can toss them into cheap air tight containers. Don't spend too much on expensive pelican cases!

Just a thought on pelican cases/ammo boxes - perfect grab & carry item for thieves. Hide 'em well.

yeah it's a bit silly to be buying an expensive pelican case to satore something that may well turn out to be almost worthless.

I understand most believe silver to one day go up but understand that it's most likely going to go down a lot.

the good thing though is if you got all your silver in the case then thieves may believe it contains an expensive camera, which you should lock up and let them take the silver decoy instead.

I bought some craftsman tool bags for my ammo cans - on sale at $5, fit perfectly, handles carry forty pounds no problem, great camouflage. My buddy helping me move said 'These tools sure are heavy.' He never gave it a second thought.
