I'm curious in how many of your have solid gold bracelets? I've been seeing them around lately, a bit of a common sight, and I'm curious if you are able to buy gold in this format at spot or if you have to pay over spot for jewelry in general. Also higher the gold ratio the better, but any particular preferences and styles?

I'm always interested in gold jewelry, and will pay better than the scrap rates. :)

Melt it down. Then at least you'll get spot!

I guess to clarify, if a bracelet is only hallmarked, without a big name (ie. Tiffany, VanCleef, etc) how much do you pay over spot. Also keep in mind I want to buy a bracelet that is relevant, and never goes out of style. So no junk gold, that is so out of fashion its worth melting. Ideally I would like to buy at spot, but this is not easy to find with jewelry I'm finding out. I would like to know this for negotiating when I do go buy one.
