Hi just wondering if anyone can tell me where in Melbourne I can take what I believe to be a silver nugget checked and valued? Thanks
if out turns out to be real silver I'll give you spot for it seriously though, any bullion dealer with an xrf machine (xray metal assay machine) will be able to test it in a few seconds without touching it damaging it in any way, that will tell you exactly what metals are in your nugget. Most places will test for free as a gesture of good faith to hopefully earn your future business. Silver nuggets are relatively rare (compared to gold nuggets) so your lucky to have found one. Do you have a picture?
Thanks for the info I'll take it to get looked at, I'm not 100% sure if it is obviously. I do have a pic but can't load a photo for some reason!
1.You can upload the image for free by going to http://postimage.org/ 2.Copy the "direct link" after uploading it. 3. and then come back here and make a new post and click the image button. 4. and paste the link in between the
Interesting object. Hope it is real. Theres a thread on here somewhere from a couple of years ago about Silver Nuggets. Had some people trying to sell fake nuggets but they didnt look like your piece.
Definitely some iron in there (the red oxidised bit). It can be tested at Gold Stackers - free service, but a donation to Amaze (Autism Victoria) is requested at time of testing.
