Hey gang..... Is buying silver and gold from dealers (jm buillion, perth mint, provident)on ebay cheaper than going to their online site and making that same exact purchase? Please real answers only. Don't really need anyone to give a stupid answer to show off your superior knowledge. Thanks...
It depends... Sometimes Apmex runs sales on ebay with free shipping that makes it worthwile. But why not just compare ebay vs "official" site before each purchase and see for yourself?
Yes, as baja stated, it depends. the one thing you can count on is that 1) if you pay sales tax when you buy direct from the dealer you will still be charged sales tax when you buy from that dealer through eBay 2) eBay often gives buyers ebay bucks 3) sometimes, eBay offers occasional special promotions for as much as 4X eBay bucks or 10% (or more perhaps) back on purchases. So, if you pick the right time, eBay can be a very sweet place to buy precious metals. Happy shopping on eBay! .
For at least one bullion trader, their eBay prices are something like 33% higher than their direct site prices. Buyer beware - I got caught - but now deal with the same company directly and receive excellent service. Should have done my homework before than after. Similarly between dealers - research the prices thoroughly AND the costs of delivery - they can make a big difference.
