Don't know .. books very high in price though.

1968 is a good year across just about the whole range, from 1c - 20c .

    Anyway .. back on topic.

Today I got a really nice 1982 Commonwealth Games 50c .. lots of luster left too. :)

Plus a better (better than I had) Weary Dunlop 50c , and a nice 2010 Celebrate Australia Day 50c.

Found a second AIATSIS 50c today. Definitely no sign of the 2014 remembrance $2 in circulation yet though.

    Hi,

in the secondary market at the moment it seems to go for $3-$4 per coin, if you buy bulk it goes down to about 3.00 x face (3 x .50c = $1.50)

the key is to get them in Uncirculated condition.

in Sydney its tough to find them, i suspect we have too many old coins in the state thus why we do not see the new coins often, it goes to other states.

Just a Heads up we got told from the Royal Australian Mint Yesterday the coloured version of this coin is SOLD OUT

    hope this helps

    James

Thanks James, we are not getting new coins because 50c is worth as much as 5c here in Syd... :|

I got this 1978 10c today. Would anyone like to give an opinion on it? Sorry for the crappy iphone pictures. And the non-numismatic language as well.

The head side is almost flat with the rim and lettering nearly non existent.

On the other side, the rim is deep and sharp like a knife-edge with virtually nothing visible in a ring around the outside. Only the zero and some of the detail are visible in the centre.

The edge has no reeding and a rounded profile.

It's pretty dirty. Looks to me like it's been buried.

It very possibly is, but it's the same dia and thickness to other 10c coins. I don't have any scales to weigh it.

^ And rightly so, that is a great score. These were uncirculated only right? Though this one is not, it would still have some value to it.
