A 2014 1/10th Kangaroo, wow its so small lol I was going to get 2 1/20ths next pay but I dont think I will be able to appreciate them even with plus 3 glasses lol. I think I will save up for 1/4s or 1/2s.
I have a couple of 1/4 oz gold Maples and they are about as small as I want to go for a bullion coin. I don't mind numismatic coins like sovereigns being small because they are that size for a reason, any bigger and they wouldn't have been any use for making purchases. But bullion that small is too small to hold and I can't make out the details, might as well have a bar and save a bit of money. Not that I can afford much over 1/4 oz though...
Hey, it's a start, and better to get what you can afford The secret is to keep accumulating without going into debt, little by little, it all adds up Congrats on your first purchase
Congratulations ! I Bought One last wk my first Australian coin 1/10 th is small but the overall quality is good. graydragon
1/10oz kangaroo 2014 was my first gold coin too. Try to buy 1/10 lunars, they are slightly bigger in diameter I try to stick to 1/4 oz lunars. But nothing larger. I will be hard to sell 1oz coin when price gets up.
1/4 is a good size but some of the 1/10th's like the AGE's and Maples have good detail. Letting them trickle through the fingers is a weirdly satisfying feeling
I've thought it might be best to stack money away, each paycheck or whatever, until you can afford a larger coin. You save money on premiums that way, and you don't have to worry about keeping up with a bunch of tiny coins. I'd rather have one 1oz than ten 1/10ths. That's my plan at least
