Looking for complete set of Series I 1oz Gold Perth Mint lunar coins...
This used to be available in a presentation box on Apmex but was sold a little while ago.

Has anyone seen recent sales of the complete set or does it need to be done by purchasing the singles? Ballpark figure for the set?
Mate wants a set, I told him to buy bullion.... he knows best.

    TIA

I vaguely recall one complete set being sold here for at least 18000? But that was quite a while back.

I'm trying to complete a set mysel but I might just give up on it!

Hiho or someone else broke up a set and auctioned them off (early 2011?). Also, a dealer (Ozzie?) sold some sets. But those sales were before the great fall in gold price and I don't think I have read about any sales in the last 2 years. You should be able to put a set together for spot + US $2400. With patience, maybe less of a premium. Some of them are available here in America, but my best source stopped carrying the S1 lunars when the company was bought out.

When gold goes higher, I am sure some sets will become available.

Here is an ebay listing for the box.

agree its usually cheaper to buy them in singles. takes work and can be a pain at times.

buying in a set is nice as they are rarely removed from box. meaning capsules and coins are usually pristine condition. Which is always nice for collectors :) Personally I love them!. I just got my hands on a 1/10 gold oz proof set. Which is a real beauty

yeah a couple years ago i know as US dealer had one on its website for like 16,000- 18000. it sold!

if you ever need some 1 oz gold ones. I may be able to get some. Premiums about 25% + shipping.

Based upon the dates of the comments, it looks like the sales were in February, 2012. The good old days when gold was above $1500USD.
