    Hi All,

    Hope everyone is well,

Today i would like to give all you would be Coin collectors some news on the 2014 $1 Circulation Normal Design Mob of Roos Coin.

The Royal Australian Mint has confirmed they will be making ONLY 1 million circulation Mob of roos coins, which means the 2014 $1 Mob of roos coin will be one of the LOWEST Minted circulation $1 coin made to date.

Now what does this mean for collectors,

    1. 1 million coins only

2.every year the RAM produce Yearly mint sets, proof sets, baby mint, baby proof and wedding sets. This year none of these sets contain the mob of roo none coloured uncirculated coin struck in al-br.

1 million coins distributed around Australia is going to make this 2014 $1 mob of roo coin well worth collecting. Look for it in circulation now and happy hunting.

Coin looks like the image below with the other side dating 2014 QEII effigy

    hope this helps

Thanks James. Meanwhile, I have scored a 2014, 100 year ANZAC $1 coin. Are these collectable, or is the the reason so few "mob" coins will be issued?

    Hi

I think the 2014 ANZAC $1 coin will be mass produced this year, but i will find out tonight as i willing be attending a RAM function in Sydney and will put your question to the RAM representatives.

Judging from the amount of $1 2014 ANZAC coins out in the market now i would think it will have a bigger mintage then the mob of roos.

Will let you guys know after the event, the RAM might shed some light on how many ANZAC $1 coins they will producing this year.

    Hope this helps

    James

I read somewhere....the anzac 2014 is minted to replace mob of roos this year.

On the tv couple months ago, RAM reps indicate that it is their aim that every person to have one. Well minus a few million thats being hoarded of course!

    Hi all

Just wanted to fill everyone in about the 2014 $1 coins

Yesterday night I was at a Royal Australian mint function and this is the lastest news I have.

2014 Anzac $1 coin = 23 million coin will be produced they want to let every australian have a chance to get one.

2014 $1 mob of Roos coin = 1 million only

I did manage to get a decent amount from the event

The royal australian mint rolled them into mint rolls

    Hi

Just want to drop a comment on this, 1 million coins spilt into all the states in Australia is not a lot of coinage.
Bear in mind the coins will not be distributed evenly as each state has it own stock pole of circulation coins.

This means that if one state has a huge stock pile of coin they might not need any new ones.

Just to put this into real terms

2011 10c pieces made 1.75 million coins. One if the lowest minted 10 c pieces
You just need look on ebay and you can see what it's going for.

    2014 $1 mob of Roos = 1 million coins

    Hope this helps

    James

    Well, it sort of is.

A few years back there was a lot of confusion over the interchangeable use of the words, Privy, Counterstamps and Mint Marks so they have clarified this a bit.

In order to have a counterstamp you need to have a normal coin to stamp it on. The Privy and Mint Marks are actually different coins with different dies. This is the same coin, same die, but with a big letter S stamped on top of it.

It should still hold its value though.

Yeah sure, on the day they said that we wouldnt see any mob of roos in circulation for 2014 only the 100 year 2014 1 dollar thats all. Im not going to be too upset about it as long as I can get my hands on a mint roll of these lol:)
