found this on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2014-Aus...AU_Exonumia_Medals_Tokens&hash=item4ad7383f07 the coin look real for some reason...even though it is not.
Yep, Chinese make great fakes. I've owned only 1 panda and I sold it. Chinese make fake anything even eggs!!! I bet you they could fake a better quality Crocodile than the Perth mint for less than $1 a coin. You've got to admire them in a way that they can produce them but they're without any scruples or morality.
They were smart with that coin by not putting a $ amount on it, it is probably not technically counterfitting currency. I still think Perth mint should take action against these sellers as they are australian based. This coin from same seller is clearly a fake gold coin (labelled as clad), but is labelled $100 on coin Much more serious offence. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-oz-coi...umia_Medals_Tokens&hash=item4ad738376e&_uhb=1
http://au.alibaba.com/product/734132742-Austraila-kookaburra-plated-silver-souvenir-coins.html http://au.alibaba.com/product/743209203-1-oz-1999-kookaburra-silver-coin.html http://au.alibaba.com/product/1628148902-1-Gram-Australian-Kookaburra-Silver-Coin.html <- $30 legal tender for a 1oz? (silver? alloy?) coin lol! No shortage of fakes and counterfeits out there, that said most of them are terrible and obvious. I'm curious to know if they can really be stopped? Or if it's only considered an issue when fake money starts to be honoured as legal tender?
Yeah, I know when I buy a big bag of potatoe chips with a handfull of kooks, I expect at least some loose change... ...I think...
This one just popped up, the auction reads.... Australian 2000 Kookaburra .999 Silver 1oz Bullion In Capsule New Australia COIN http://www.ebay.com/itm/Australian-...ia-COIN-/121373241351?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 You have to scroll all the way down, to see in the description that it is not a pure silver coin....crooked as hell. Then you flip it over..........
I have found a silmilar colored Koala coin on ebay from a Canadian dealer: http://www.ebay.de/itm/RARE-2014-1o...1586039?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item5b01c314f7 This is obviously not a PM colored coin. But the coin itself seems to be a true PM Silver Koala and nod a clad coin. I contacted that guy and he told me that it is not colorized in China but in Germany by Mayer Mint: http://www.mayermint.com/index.htm This company supposed to be a well known player in that business as the Canadian told me.
saw this on ebay and seller has almost 30000 feedback http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Australi...AU_Exonumia_Medals_Tokens&hash=item1c41ffb2cd and fake....until you read it in the description. but the quality looks perfect.
