Apologies prior to asking because I'm sure this has all been answered before, but I couldn't find out everything I wanted to know from searching. I'm considering buying some gold The aim would be to sit on it for the foreseeable future and maybe in 5/10/20 years it will turn out to be a good investment, if not then oh well, i still would have enjoyed having it nonetheless I'm in the UK What shops offer the best prices? from googling it seems to be Atkinsons. I've looked on Ebay too but I worry about buying duds.. so probably will steer clear Also what would be the best type of gold to get for the long term, coins/bars? a 1oz OPM bar atm is 20 cheaper than a 2014 Britannia coin but the coins will be CGT free hmm.. So basically I'm asking where? what? and if you can tell me when too the that is also fine (not asking a lot am I lol) Thanks for any help. ps. I'm also considering silver too along with gold, but gold just appeals to me more aesthetically.

Thanks Looks like Atkinsons seems to be the "where" then. I see there is another new thread discussing the "what" http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-53123-coins-or-bars.html But there is some conflicting advice. I'm leaning towards the 1oz Britannia coins atm.
I know it's not great forum etiquette to bump your own thread, but I would appreciate if anyone could offer any advice to my original post. Thanks
