Koala 2009 variety?

    I got 3 of each of these. Are the more frosty ones earlier releases?

    As a fellow numismatist since 1995, I can tell you that the "frostier" the coin, the earlier the coin was struck from the die.

    ? Were they not both struck from the Die? I don't get that sorry.

    Both look as frosty as each other.. I look through my lot this evening but id say maybe a natural phenomenon would explain it .. ie: sunlight fading.

    are one of the koalas frostier than the other? If so, then when the dies were placed into service, the coin with the frostier appearance was one of the first coins struck from the die.

    There is no hullabaloo with the picture. They are exactly like that. I bought 6 and got 3 of each.

    I guess one could say that one looks BU and the other proof.

    Browsing through ebay listings there seems to be more of the proof-ish version.

    Looking at the branch its clear that they've used different dies for these coins.
