I'm trying to think of the old country expression for stealing clothes and sheets of another's clothes line. I keep thinking snowballing, but I know that's wrong.
"Snow dropping" Stealing clothes (often designer labels) from clothes lines. That's the word I wanted. Pinch the silver sheets of the line and melt them down!
Silver is the most heat conductive metal there is. I dont know if having silver in a sheet would make u warmer and insulate you more than a regular sheet. or keep u colder than a regular sheet cos it would radiate the cold in from the air more effectively... whats the number to mythbusters?
All it is is nano particles. We have a washing machine that has two settings... Sanitize and anti bacterial. The machine comes with 5 grammes of silver and a current is run through the silver when the water passes over it to then put nano particles into the washing water killing germs. I saw some socks at myer with the particles and it stopped smelling feet. Not sure how long it lasted. It would be easier to simpler have a nano particle devise that can be fitted to industrial washing machines and sell these across the world to laundry mat and other places who wash in huge loads, rather than impregnating a sheet and it washing off in a few washes. The issue that I have with this technology is two fold. 1) environmental damage as nano particles are released into water ways. They damage any living cell they come into contact with. 2) your skin absorbs some of the particles that are in the sheet or clothes and this causes free radicals in you body, causing damage, and may lead to cancer. We don't like to use that function unless the kids have serious skiddies or have a vomiting bug or something. Shiny
Some manufacturers (such as Proctor & Gamble, and Gillette) are test-marketing soap, toothpaste, mouthwash and deodorants in the US market, thoiugh I doubt the products will be infused with enough silver to make any difference. It might just be a neat marketing gimmick, but it's also further evidence that silver is gaining more recognition for it's antibacterial properties. These developments could eventually prove beneficial for everyone concerned - including the silver bullion investors.
I know this is very vague because I forgot the details but my buddies dad who works repairing hospital sterileprocessors and other machines is angry because there are overhauling a lot of the machines to add more silver to make them more sterile and its making him work more.
