    Hey Guys,

So thought this might be the most relevant topic to post under as if is a little random but curious?? :S

Anyway just wondering if anyone has had any experience in starting some form of sporting retail store..

Just a question regarding products and stock when one is to open a sports retail store where would they go to get there stock/products from. Is there a wholesale company or site that you can join up as a retailer.. Or would I have to contact each major brand and discuss becoming a retailer for them?

    Regards Juz

    Do some market research 1st.

There are 2 people here at my current job with online sports apparel businesses. God know how many other's you'll be up against.

We got the entire football team's strips from Alibaba in China, paid next to nothing for them, I don't think they were genuine Manchester United Strips but we aren't actually Man U either, we just wanted to play in red.

    Do people still play sports?

    ^^ This.
My mate had a sporting goods retail store until a year or two ago - couldn't compete with the big guys or online stores and ended up closing.
My daughter is full-on into a fairly high level of swimming (which ensures I get the joy of driving her to the pool at 5am 5 x per week, yay ). She gets most of her gear online.
