I am going to South Africa in May, and want to pick up a 1oz krugerand there. Can anyone recommend a retail shop? or a supplier in South Africa?

Ay one bought a krugerand in South Africa?

You shouldn't have any problems buying one however you might have problems taking it out of South Africa.
There's all sorts of capital controls there and I am pretty sure gold coins are on the list.
Those rules might only apply to South Africans however I think picking one up from a forum member is a safer option

Why don't you visit the South African mint instead? Doubt the krugs would be worthwhile getting.

Why you say that about the krugs? Anything else you would recommend?

It would be worthwhile getting something from the mint that you normally wouldn't get online.

Krugs are available everywhere. Their collectible coins aren't as easily accessible.
