    Hey guys,

Silvertowne is selling this coin exclusively for Perth Mint. The mintage is 5,000. Pretty cool coin. I would post a pic but I read something about posting links to Perth stuff is a no-no. Anyone order one of these yet?

Pretty sure it's only a no-no when the images are under embargo pending a coin's release

    Caveat: I could be wrong

Editorial: But I think I'm right

I could be wrong, but I don't think this will have the same effect as the Wedge Tailed Eagle coin. That coin is very popular because of the designer, not simply because of the design.

The images are up on Silvertownes site so they're officially out in the wild.

It's a decent design but not even close to the Mercanti Eagle.

In comparison to the wedge tailed I think it stands up pretty well. The detail is amazing on the close up bust of the bald eagle. In addition its half of the population 5k vs. 10k. To each their own as they say.

Decent looking coin, but it doesn't have the same punch as the wedge tail eagle variant.

Is Perth mint give all mintage to silvertown to well for them? With the wedge tail, Perth kept some to itself to sell in Australia

The description says silvertowne exclusive for all 5k. I am drawn to a lot of the Perth Mint stuff and this is up there with the Lunars as far as favorite designs go. It's basically the same price as the Kook high reliefs with a fraction of the mintage. No brainer for me. I like the fact that it has Americana on one side and Britannia on the other.

First, I accidentally kept clicking on the report link thinking it was the quote link, so if an admin sends you some type of warning, please refer them to this post OOPS!!! Second, yes, it comes in a box and capsule with CoA if you don't get the overpriced graded versions. People keep asking me about this coin, maybe I am wrong about not being interested in them, the design is nice but I don't see them having much flip potention or appreciation potential. Again, I could be wrong, the design is very nice, and the mintage is on the lower side.

Ha. Don't worry about it, I am sure it's fine.

Obviously this coin does not look as striking as the wedge tailed eagle, (at least in my opinion.) And although mintage for this bald eagle is half as low as the wedge tailed eagle, I am sure the wedge tailed eagle has more than double the demand. Hence the high secondary market prices.

I have started an obsession with collecting the Perth Mint HR coins. And this will be a nice one for the collection, I've just bought one through a friend in the US :) Wooo

I don't think the price is bad at all, especially considering the mintage. I am pretty sure it will at least maintain it's price, if not increase. But the reason for my purchase is for my collection.

My 'investments' for now are in semi numismatic bullion, as resale will be easier. But if I had spare capital now I would have bought a few of these eagles to sell, I don't think it would have been that much of a risky deal.

Is it just me, or does the font type that they have used in the letter 'Q' on this coin look very odd?

It looks like they just restocked a bunch of the MS69 and MS70 coins.

Here's a sign that this coin is a loser... Silvertowne seems to have found that it's nothing compared to the Wedge Tailed Eagle and has wholesaled some to Talisman Coins. Companies don't give up exclusivity on a winner...

I like the coin. Can't wait to see it in person. I bought it for my collection, not for a quick profit. So not really bothered that this coin doesn't look like it's going to see an astronomical increase in price. To me it's not a looser.
